search on stripped drain plugs - you have lots of hits - it's common
I think most folks just went to an oversize bolt.

only person that replaced an oil pan - got it under warranty
it's way expensive and you have to pull the engine.

Grind down or use a sharp flat screw driver. Tap it lightly to wedge the drain plug then loosen the plug. It may take a bit, you may have to come up with another homemade wedge, but that will get it out.

As mentioned, search here with terms like "stripped" and "fumoto" and you'll find a repair. To get it out, I would start with a pair of vice grips, and pull on it while turning counterclockwise. You might get it to engage the threads long enough to remove it. Then do what the search told you.

I'm not sure what's the thread size for the stock plug, I think is metric and smaller than 1/2 inch. The 4.0 engine used on wranglers and Cherokees uses an 1/2 inch plug, so rethreading to 1/2 would allow using the same fumoto valve that was made for those engines, may be a fumoto f102, but you'll need to check the charts to make sure. Also, use some plumbing tape.

The thread is a British straight pipe thread, I believe it is 1/2", but you will want to check on this. There are several notes on this, basically, the idea is to retap for a larger size. Then, I would go to Fumoto drain valve. These work very well.
