Post subject:  Torque Converter Bolts Backed Out

Well, it was middle of winter February two years ago and needed an torque converter so had an local shop do it. Now... present day two of the torque converter bolts have backed out and it is all messed up. The holes are oblong and looking at it seems as tho maybe they used the wrong flexplate to torque converter bolts. They used some aftermarket brand torque converter. The bolts are SAE an 5/16-24 grade 8 bolt and length is 0.415" (~10.5mm). Is this correct or did they totally f it all up? Hard to tell but doesn't look like they used loctitie on the threads either. What size bolts are supposed to be in there holding the flex plate to converter? Hindsight is 20-20 but should have done it myself.

Here is link to some images: Flexplate Issue - https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing

Thanks for any help or comments. It is difficult to find info on it on the net but if you have any helpful links for torque converter install information/torque specs/bolt sizes/ect please let me know.

Thanks!
Max

There is some information at viewtopic.php?f=5&t=78076&p=819674&hilit=flexplate#p819674 . GDE or Suncoast can probably tell you bolt specs.
