Just wondering...the old one with 140k on it seems fine! Pliable, but not spongy. It did have the outside soaked pretty well over time with leaking ATF, though. I have the radiator, CAC, etc. off right now so that puppy is just sitting right there. I can't find it locally, but IDParts has it for $60.

Anyone had that hose fail on them? And how much harder is it to replace it once the radiator and such are back in place?

Normally I'd say leave it alone as diesel coolant hoses tend to last, other than apparently the small EGR coolant hoses. That said if you are right there I'd replace it just because it looks rather difficult to replace otherwise based on a look I took a while back.

As to source Gates 23071, Amazon $37.92 and if you are a Prime member free 2 day shipping.

I replaced mine when I took the whole front end apart to do the timing belt. It would be a severe pain in the posterior to try and replace that hose with everything in place. It lays right against the suspension wedged in between a few parts, if you've got all that stuff off you can see how painful it would be to try without all that stuff in the way.

I bought mine at NAPA, It was $48 at the time but I just looked and they're clocking $62.49 so I'd go with IDParts as we have a board member who works in sales for them and I've never had any problems with them or their service.

Replace it now, sleep more comfortably the next night.

Those miles.

Those years.

It's right in front of you now.

Replace it.
