I know the bfg AT's are not on the list, but please place a vote for them. I have absolutely loved the three pairs I have bought for my trucks. As soon as I have the money I will be buying a set for the jeep. Also, my Dad has put three sets of Yokohoma Geolanders on his Cherokees, they are cheep and have excellent traction on the dirt and on the road. I wouldn't recommend them for snow or mud though. We have had Cherokees in the family for 28 years and we have never gone as many places in the dirt without locking in the 4wheel drive. Good luck.

A couple of years ago, Tire Rack/General Tires had a special offer on General Grabber AT/2 for $100 per tire. I bought five and am very pleased with the off road performance, wear and relatively low highway noise. Tire Rack/General recently had a $70 or $100 rebate on sets of Grabber AT/2 tires, so I bought a set to put on when the current tires wear out. That rebate may still be in effect. I know these tires were not on your list, but I consider them a very good balance for on and off road use.

I do like bfg at ko a lot. But as with any offroad tire it takes some comfort away, so for whoever hasn't experienced an offroad tire this should serve as a kind reminder. I am a fan of offroad tires since I have never had a flat and keep pulling broken screws and nails that haven't had the force to pierce through, and I wiling fully sacrificed the comfort for the convenience of traction and flats.

Similar to what flash7210 did, a couple weeks ago I installed some Cooper Discoverer AT3 (245/75/16 - 120/116R) on my KJ CRD to replace the generico Kuhmo 225/70/16s that I put on a couple years ago when I first bought it.

There was quite a difference in the size & performance:

As you can probably see below, I did put a slight 1" lift on the rig, when I upgraded the stock 110k-mile-old suspension, by installing Old Man Emu coil springs (927s on front & 948s on rear) & Bilstein shocks on the front and back in May 2014 (as well as replace the front upper and lower control arm assemblies, the ball joints and bushings, the rack and pinion, the rear control arm assembly and ball joints):

After I put on all the Cooper Discoverer AT3 (245/75/16 - 120/116R), there was a mild rub on front minimudflap facade at full turn/pinch. I just heatgunned the inside of the wheel-well and pushed/stretched it so the tire didn't make contact anymore, and I cut off that front 2"x4" front-minimudflap.

I like them a lot, and I can't wait to take them up to Tahoe for our next snowboarding trip.

I have been eying the Cooper Discoverer AT3 in 245/75/R16 to put on MOAB wheels I have had sitting in the garage for too long. Just put an OME lift on the CRD this weekend.

Discount tire direct has 3 different ones in this size.

245 /75 R16 111T SL OWL - $118 each

LT245 /75 R16 108R C1 OWL - $152 each

LT245 /75 R16 120R E1 OWL - $167 each

Looks like the differences are the speed and load rating. E rating seems like overkill on the CRD.

Is anyone one running the SL or C1 rated tires?

Thanks in advance

Tire Kingdom has the Cooper Discoverer RTX. Looks like a really good off road tire.
$102 each for 245/75-16.
They quoted me $605 for everything installed.

Okay...bottom line question; does 245/75/16 fit a stock vehicle or not? I thought 235/70/16 was the largest. I want the largest that will fit a stock Libby CRD.

245/75/16 would only fit with a lift kit. 245/70/16 is as big as you can get with very light rubbing on the plastic inner fender.
