Does the 2005 Jeep Liberty KJ 2.8CRD have a Cabin filter fitted? If so where is it and is it simple to change? |

Then why do they sell Cabin/pollen filters for this model? |

Who is selling them? I recall that there was a mention of someone producing an aftermarket filter, but they don't come as stock. |

Open your glove box. Squeeze the plastic retaining tabs on the sides to allow the drawer to drop free. Look for the screen in the upper right of the void space (US models). There is a screen. Mine was full of fuzz, but no replaceable filter. Vacuum out any debris. That's it... I have a 2005 by the way, can't speak for other models. |

I cleaned it out while replacing the blower resistor pack. Mine was pretty gunked up so I used some loops of electrical tape to pull off all the fuzz. |

Hi reeflodge - I've ordered one and I'll have a look at the place Rocky mentioned. I suffer from hayfever and a pollen filter would be wonderful. I'll let you know how I do. |

As noted there is no pollen filter on at least the US models. There are 2 air "intake" places: 1. on the right side of the vehicle, facing forward, under the cowl there is the main air intake. It can be accessed by removing the wipers and carefully prying up the plastic push pins that hold the cowl in place. Once in there you will find an oval screened area somewhat sheltered from water and debris but a raised metal edge. You might be able to fit a filter over the screen but I don't think it would be well sheltered from water and of course changing it would be a challenge. 2. the screen/grate behind the glove box is the air intake when the system is in recirculate mode (e.g. not taking in outside air). This location is not too hard to access and it would be possible to squeeze a filter in there but of course it would only work in recirculate mode. |

Ok, I've got it, and the instructions say its for a Grand Cherokee, not the Cherokee (Liberty). I'm getting a full refund, so no problem. |
