OK my wife's 06 keeps throwing a P0069 and we can get about 50 MPH with no additional acceleration, very intermittant. After awhile the CEL may still be on but it will be driving fine. Also at times the CEL will go off and we have no problems. I can clear the code but it comes back. Seems to happen more during warm weather. I am trying to grasp what I read about people checking the wiring into the firewall but cannot see this (suggestions?).

This has a GDE tune

I have searched around these forums and seen where folks mention the MAP sensor (replaced 2 years ago), MAF, or inlet pressure sensor. Although for the last one it appears the GDE took care of that (Correct?).

This had an EHM until 6 months ago when I took it off, I need to reroute it further back. Had the issue then as well
Hoses look fine
Air filter is clean
85K miles
Only about 20 mpg

I can order another MAP from idParts, for $25 I ain't gonna sweat it. Still drives well enough but like to get this fixed before we head to FL over the xmas Holidays

Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated.

P0069 is a drift of the MAP sensor reading as measured during no throttle tip-outs at times if/when diagnostics are running.

It could be a bad sensor and easy to fix.

It could also be a wiring issue, air pressure sensor(APS) drift in ecm?, clogged intake, or potentially rocker issues.

If you have a OBD monitoring tool and record the MAP pressure during a no load decel with rpm from 2500-idle it could be beneficial information. Have you ever cleaned the MAP sensor? and how? A separate measurement of the mass air flow (MAF) at idle could help in the root cause.

If APS sensor in ecm is failing it should also flag a P0606 code. The few times we have tested bad ecms, there has been a P0606 code and the module is dead, ie. the engine is not running. The ecm is a minimal risk.

How many miles did the engine already have when it was tuned?

Not real sure about the mileage when it was tuned, we bought it with 48K on there and tuned it shortly after buying it. MAP was replaced maybe 1.5 years ago.

Any photos on potential wiring issues would be a great help

I have a Scan Gauge II to read codes so not sure how good that will do since I have heard bad things about running a Liberty with that attached. I have to read up on it to see if it can do the MAF at idle. No other way to monitor the OBD.

I have not seen a P0606 code yet.

I have no problem replacing the MAP for $25

Now the MAF at $160, that is getting a bit more but if that takes care of the problem then... What is the possibility of a bad MAF.

Be glad to replace both if necessary

First test, in light of KJ's past\previous record with MAP gum-up, would be to pull MAP for visual inspection and clean if necessary - can use Diesel fuel, petroleum napthta (VARSOL), or paint thinner, without fear of damaging sensor

DO NOT USE LACQUER THINNER OR BRAKE CLEANER - these highly volatiles can damage\melt the sensor

0% chance of a MAF failure, that would flag a different code.

Also, check to ensure the green silicone rubber o-ring is resident in it's designed-for groove - badly-nicked or missing can cause MAP implausibility errors

Intake manifold leakage results in less-than-expected\demanded pressures

Also check air filter box for enterprising furry creature(s) having set up shop in the large (supposed to be) empty space beneath the air filter element - leaves, grass, and bits of paper and cloth, while comforting to said creature(s), are not entirely conducive to designed air flow-thru, and can cause MAP implausibilty errors.....................

Restricted intake results in lower-than-expected pressures with increased vacuum - this should be seen in Intake Pressure Sensor between air filter and compressor inlet

This can vary with intake-air demand, as less or more nest-material blocks the under-side area of the air filter element - erratically fluttering restriction can cause MAP implausibility errors

Just last week my air box swallowed a small bird.
Well, parts of it anyway. :P
