My CRD with the NV242 transfer case and the ESP did not offer the limited slip diff as an option. Is there any reason that I should not install one in the rear?

I think you'll find what your looking for in the 4x4 section. If you are going to put in a locker make it a good one. Maybe an air locker! I'm a very tame guy when it comes to 4 wheelin, but an air locker has to be the best of both worlds? It certainly is the expensive way to go. Last I looked the consensus in the 4x4 section was that there was no reason not to use a locker with the electronic traction control system.

I believe that I read the combination of SelecTrac, ESP and LSD was not considered a good mix by Jeep and that is why LSD was dropped in '06. On another post someone said they were running lockers though.

I love ARB products and their lockers are amazing but they come with major maintance issues. It is not uncommon to have to rebuild an ARB locker every 3-5 years. Also stay away from ARB's air compressors like the plague. Buy a an refillable CO2 tank from a company like THE SOURCE to run your ARB lockers. Don't get me wrong I like ARB's they're just higher maintainance than Detroits.

I had the same thought, trac-locs can be had for as little as $140+s/h new online. I don't NEED a lsd, but I WANT one.

Trac-loc + short wheelbase + snow/rain + wife driving = very nervous spouse!! It would be nice off-road but that"s about it. I wouldn't think there would be a benefit with ESP. Wish I could add ESP.
