I've only occasionally seen them in hard-copy soft-cover book format |

Chief, you may be able to score some cheap ones from eBay (hard copy), I got the crd engine booklet "DC academy" from eBay for less than 10 bucks. But honestly, some folks on this forum, gmctd included, know more than those booklets will ever show... |

The booklets probably made more sense when attending the DCJ tech institute - if there ever was such a thing The dealer-training video for the then-new KJ VM CRD occupied itself with information on the new transmissions for other vehicles, PCMs for same, various newly-introduced vehicles - the KJ Diesel training section was an introductory segment that lasted around 10 minutes - it's little wonder the dealers hated the 2.8L Diesel KJ, preferring to send them over to the Dodge Cummins service techs - who also had no training and sparse information on the li'l puffer I remember how disappointing was the official GM training course on the then-new Stanadyne DS-series ECM-controlled injection pump - the course mainly wanted to know if the tech knew how to correctly-spell Diesel, the difference in the injection pump and a lift pump, the difference between Diesel fuel and gasoline, how to identify a turbocharger, and other associated info, not specific to theory and operation of the new DS-type IP - what little info to be gleaned was not sufficient to diagnose and troubleshoot the multitudinous failure symptoms the dam-ting would cause Oh, well....long ago and far away, eh.............................. |

I'll see what I can find. I always liked the student books when I was at the dealer. Many had more info then he service manual. Intricant details. If I get them, I'll scan and OCR |

They are as good as I remember. Much more technical data then the FSM on certain items. Not as good as the 1989 SBEC 3.0 minivan book I had...but still great tabletop reading. Or as Ford calls them...coffee top books |
