First post and loving the CRD but I have a question that I can not seem to find the answer so here I go.

I have a 05 Liberty CRD with 81,000 miles and have been very happy with. I got the GDE Eco-tune for better MPG and power but when I installed it, it seems to have very little power and a lot of smoke until it get to about 18 psi of boost and then it shifts down and hits about 2800 rpm and takes off in a quick hurry. So I took it back to stock mode from the GDE tune and now it runs fine, but why would the GDE make it do this? Any ideas since I was hoping to run the tune, is there something else going on to make this happen and only noticeable when tuned? Also no engine warning light.

Thanks
Shane

Sounds like you got a bad download the first time - read thru the instructions before you try it again, making sure you follow all instructions explicitly - see if it takes, the second time

x2. I've had it on my 05 for about 3 years now and its been great; I have already recouped the cost in fuel saving (fuel is more expensive over here), and the improvement in driveability and power is noticeable. If you still have a problem, contact Keith at GDE - their support is excellent.

X2, I would have contacted GDE before I made a forum post.

That is a good idea, I will reload download the file and see if that does it. As to contacting GDE I did and Keith had no idea.

Are you still running the stock setup (EGR, no ORM)? If so you may need to clean your air filter, MAP sensor, new fuel filter, ect. What color smoke are you getting, thick black, or white? Also if you haven't done it you really need to do a TIMING BELT change as this rubber belt it 10 years old now.
