From the YouTube timing belt video, the individual stated the top left gets a hairline crack that he JB Welds. I'm wondering if all your oil may be coming out the top and running down. You could clean real well and pressure / smoke test. Then maybe epoxy if only small leak |

Top left is exactly where this would be. I figured I'd through the old pressure tester on once i got it pulled... If they are 500$ like someone told me i'll definitely try JB weld first! |

SirSam JB welded it; that's assuming it's an intercooler leak not just weeping from a slightly loose CAC hose. As I recall weeks101 was looking into a all metal replacement; don't know how that will pan out as others have tried. |

Wonder if some speed, racing parts outlet would have something close enough all metal to work? |

It is unlikely that one from a junkyard, if you can find one, would last very long. Most, even those that have lived the most pampereded lives, last much more than 100K miles. Several people have reported the JB Weld repairs not lasting very well. However, at least for the plastic only failures, an adhesives expert should be able to come up with something. DOC |

Some of the more modern radiator repair shops have the equipment to remove plastic tanks and reseal them and test for leaks. You might won't to give them a try???? |

I have access to a wizard of plastic welding. He indicated that he has successfully repaired a number of plastic/aluminum radiators. If anyone would like to send a cracked CRD intercooler to me, there is a good chance you can get it repaired for free as a "test case". He indicated that the repairs tend to be much stronger than the original sections. (PM me for details.) DOC |
