While doing the radiator replacement on the crd,I have discovered it has been an accident before my gf purchased it. The bumper cover mount tabs on the top are broken off, the black inner plastic piece (inside the bumper cover)is broke. Washer bottle shattered. Black inner grill broke in spots. Later this year I will fix it properly. The fenders and flares are not damaged. The main question is. Since I will be replacing most everything. What all do I need from the previous front end style (01-04) to make it work. They have several of these liberty's(no crd's) in local salvage yards. And I like the way the bumper looks better. Just my opinion. |

you would need: fenders fender flares and inner fender liners grille header pannel bumper cover inner black plastic bumper turn signals/parking lamps/side markers hood latch support may be different too fog lights (optional) and you would need to custom wire the turn/fog lights, the electrical connectors are different upfront between the years, not just plug and play. I thought about doing the same thing. The rocker panel trim is different too, you would actually need to change the rocker panel trim and the rear door fender flare to the 02-04 to make it look right. |

Would be a lot easier to install body parts from any of the 2005, 2006, and possibly 2007 liberty models. And as far as the plastic bumper goes, many folks have replaced the plastic with a steel bumper from a TJ. Its not a direct bolt on, takes some fabrication, but looks better IMO. |

I don't guess I have seen any kjs with a tj front bumper. Sucks it takes all that to put the better looking bumper/grill on a 05. |

My wife's 2005 Limited edition was totaled by usaa insurance in 2006. Whole front end, the fenders, windshield and driver door. Bought it back and rebuilt with gasser parts except for the engine frame. Had a little trouble finding a scrap yard piece. Repainted and back on road about a year or so later. Put 70K miles on it since. Looks fine, usual other crd issues since then. I forgot that I had some trouble finding the inter cooler. |

I'm lucky when the fan came apart, it didn't go all the way thru the rad and take out the CAC also. This kj just has a bunch of broke plastic pieces. No metal damage. With it all together you can't tell stuff is broken, but it bothers me knowing that it is. Lol I'm wierd like that. |
