My wife had the Jeep stall on her. She came to a stoplight and said it shuddered real hard and died. She put it in park and it started right back up? I haven't been around these little jeeps enough to know of any common problems. Any ideas?

Add some additional AFT+4 fluid to the transmission. Bring the level up between 1/4 to 1/2 inch above the full mark on the dip stick when at normal operating temperature.
This is a common issue.... If this does not cure the problem, you may have to consider having the front pump assembly replaced in the transmission.
There are parts in the front pump (plungers & bores) that wear over time and cause problems...

Very interesting. I will give that I try. It was kind of scary just purchasing this vehicle and having to do so much to it already.

You know, I could not imagine looking out in the garage and not seeing my 2 loyal CRDs, worse yet a newer gasser or diesel? :ALONE:

This common problem can be avoided by running a high idle in neutral for 10-15 seconds on a cold engine before driving anywhere. Try it.
