Dose anyone know how to Ck the Vacuum Regulator Solenoid? I washed under my hood and must have shorted out this part, I'm getting the code P1252 -- "Vac Reg Sol Short Circuit" I removed the part and am getting 14.3-4 ohm's Can someone tell me if this part is BAD… Thanks...

Try drying it out with a hair dryer, then check again, but that doesn't seem too low - make sure the harness connector is dry

Normally, power is applied, the coil draws current, the shuttle moves then stops, at which time current will increase to maintain shuttle position - ECM is expecting this delay B4 current increases

If the shuttle is stuck, power is applied and current increases immediately - which can fool the ECM into thinking the solenoid is shorted

Well I tried the hair dryer-- no dice.. O'well Thanks gmctd for the advice… I ordered a new solenoid.. I did Talk to Keith @GreenDieselEngineering and he always has GREAT advice… "he said to unplug the unit and use the long tube to jump -bypassing the Solenoid to the VAC can… till I get the replacement... :ROTFL: Worked like a charm… Thanks Keith you are a very smart man…..

Yep - most just bypass it and replace
