Post subject:  Preventive maintenance while the CRD is having some time off

Hey guys,

I'm about to get a new car (Audi SQ5 :D ) but am keeping the Jeep as my beater. Obviously when I get the new one, I'll be driving it like I've been waiting for it for 6 months (which is true) so the Jeep will spend a lot of time in the garage. I figure this is a good time to do some preventative maintenance so hopefully I get a lot more mileage out of her. Having a garage, I can work on it off and on and don't have to worry too much about completing a project in a day. I want to see if there is anything else you guys recommend I do while I'm at it. I've got close to 113k miles on it. Here's what I've come up with:

Replace MAP sensor
Replace hoses
Clean out intake area (can somebody point me to a DIY for this???)
Intake Elbow Kit (Already has GDE eco tune)

I've had the GDE eco tune and EHM since about 65k miles and at 91k miles I replaced the serp belt, timing belt, water pump.

Any suggestions? I don't want to do anything that's a major expense and I'm pretty handy but not so good that I can pull the whole engine out.

Thanks!

Also will probably replace the CCV since it's not too expensive and should be easy, right?

Well, it's been a year and I've done a grand total of zero of the above things. Life kinda got in the way 8)

Anybody have any other suggestions? What about transmission/transfer/diff fluids? Or is there any worthwhile upgrade I could do to them?

CV joints??

Thanks!

Front CV axles: replace when they go bad

Front drive shaft CV joints: the joint up against the transfercase has a tendancy to go bad and make a jingling noise

Front lower ball joints: inspect them. Any detectable movement or slop means they need replacment

Transmission upgrade: the TransGo shift kit is popular. Also might want to upgrade the torque converter if you experience shudder

Transmission fluid/filters, diff oils, transfercase fluid: follow whats reccomended in the owners manual

Maybe consider replacing the shocks?
