Is this a quality brand? Can I trust it to last that long. I have never used one, but I know how disheartening it is to put in a new "inexpensive" t-stat then have to replace it 8,000 miles down the road. Anyone had any luck with them

Stay away of crown, you'll be lucky to get not 8k miles, but 1000... It starts leaking.

I put in a Crown 3 years ago in the Sport, and the OE in the LTD, they are both working the same, not very good.

I would not use a Crown for any moving part that might be detrimental to the engine.

Use the OEM part! Do not waste your money on Crown China junk!
Several OEM dealers have the OEM Mopar parts listed on the web for around 100 bucks
Factory Chrysler Parts: http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/productSearch.aspx?searchTerm=5142601AA
Factory MoparParts.net: http://www.factorymoparparts.net/oe-mopar/5142601aa?search_str=5142601AA
Search online for: 5142601AA part number...find the best deal/price....
:google:

I should have a good used OEM thermostat (only 14,000 miles on it) available at the end of March. First one willing to pay shipping can have it just shoot me an email. You will need to get a thermostat to block gasket PN5066806AA or make one of your own.
