I cant find a for sale section but I thought I had seen one before. I am looking for one of the machined inline thermostat housing that someone no longer needs. My budget does not allow a new one.

This doesn't address your exact question, but I thought I would point out the price has come down on Mopar OE replacement thermostats. You can get them for about $100 now. Part number is 5142601AA.

For example: http://www.factorymoparparts.com/5142601aa.html

The new machined Tstat housings are very new, maybe less then a dozen made? (just a guess) So I doubt any one is going to be parting with one at a bargain price any time soon. The CRD classified section is right here in this section of the forum.

I guess he's referring to trying to pick up a Meziere housing from someone who doesn't want it any more?

Thats my guess too.
They are about $60 from any of the online vendors.

Summer is approaching fast.
Just run with the factory, failed open, thermostat.
Save your money and when fall comes around you can buy whichever thermostat replacement you like.
The worst that could happen is your engine runs cool all summer long and you loose 1 mpg.
