What is the best way to clean oil out of the bottle, from a recent engine oil-to-coolant contamination??

De-greasers don't work all that well. How about -errrrr gasoline?? I know that works wonders on the driveway -hahaha!!!

Thoughts please. Thanks!!

I'd use a degreaser and a bottle brush.

Brake cleaner is my usual goto for this sort of task. Most seem to be relatively safe for plastic and rubber parts.

Make sure to test before getting in too deep but polypropylene is fairly inert to many solvents.

Brake fluid no worky. Spent an hour sloshing it around, yielding minimal results. The stuff was a fairly sludgy oily film.

Put a pint of gas in there and sloshed it around, drain & repeat. Clean as a whistle in 15 minutes. Rinsed it out 3x with water.

I have had excellent results using about 1 cup of Castrol Super Clean, and about 1 cup of clean gravel. With the gravel and Super Clean inside the tank, agitate thoroughly. When clean, pour out the gravel and Super Clean, then rinse. Should come out looking like new.

Instead of the gravel, I'll bet crushed ice would work too. Something to give the liquid a bit more "punch."
