I finally got hit by the dreaded broken window regulator and bought the kit to replace the plastic corkscrew with the steel one. But I can't get the darn cable/spring/pipe cleaner out of the plastic tube!

When it broke, it went into the 90 degree bend far enough to jam, and no tool I've tried has been able to budge it in either direction!

Advice? Anyone got an old one they'd be willing to let go of?

Thanks in advance!

Awaiting install: EVIC, air cleaner hose, and Saikou Michi Catch Can (like a Provent)

Did you hear about the guy who was hooked on brake fluid?
He swears he can stop any time.

Whole new motor and track can be had from ebay for less than $50, If you cant get it apart I would just get a new one.

I had the exact same issue with one of my rears. A lot of gentle coaxing, tapping and twisting and it eventually came free. With perseverance you should be able to get it out of there.

Of course, you need to be pushing the cable back in the direction it went into that bend. If you've been trying to pull it through you've probably made your task even harder.

If you do end up resorting to a new one for trouble free service I'd go ahead and "repair" with the kit you got before installation.

I had to do the repair on mine as well, although mine did not wedge.. I was able to replace the take it out of door and feed the pipe cleaner out without issue.
