Hi guys
So this morning my Jeep cut out on me. Pulled over, waited 20 secs, then tried starting and it fired right up. Drove for about 20 mins more then it cut out on me again. This time it wouldn't restart. Cranks fine, but no go.
From what i've read i'm guessing possibly the Crankshaft position sensor. Can anybody tell me where it is, or better still, photos, and how to test it. What a PITA!

Only way I know to test is pull it; hook up meter to measure resistance; apply heat with like a hair dryer. If resistance goes nuts it's bad.

does anybody have any tips for getting the sensor out? access is so limited it's unbelievable. I have unbolted the heat shield around it, but can't seem to totally move it out of the way. The turbo is just right in the way. I have unbolted and dropped the exhaust for a bit more room, but still struggling.
Hope it is the sensor after all this...

Check the fuse box.
There is a ASD relay and a ASD fuse. If either of those is bad, engine will crank but not start.

Check your dashboard lights. When you turn the key on and and all the lights come on, one of the lights is just a red dot. If that red dot stays on and does not go out, the engine will crank but not start.
