Hello, I was curious if anyone knew the ratios our transmission uses? It it the same as the gas hemi's? I would not think so, but I was told otherwise.-Erick |

All 545rfe transmissions use the same gear ratios. Doesn't matter what engine they are attached to. |

Awesome! That is really nice to know that there are many transmissions out there for our fairly rare jeep. |

Yup, 545RFE is very common in junkyards from WJs....... But they do not show interchange, so I wonder what the differences are..... Someday I might have to dig into the part numbers from the fiches and see what is different between them. |

That would be interesting to know if it is possible to obtain a donor from a WK. I wonder why the dodge 1500's swap?(question from a guy who has never swapped one lol) |

I think the only diffdrence is in the transfer case mounting. You will most likey have to still use your KJ transfer case and swap it onto the trans. |

I dont know about the WK or WK2, but the WJ uses the same transfer case mounting and the transfer cases are interchangable. I have seen a number of WJ transmissions in the junkyard and externally cannot tell a different, all the electrical plugs, belhousing, trans mount, and transfer case side appear the same. I had been assuming the gearing inside was different, but if thats really true that they are the same I should be able to use a common WJ trans to replace mine. |
