I hate to do it, but I think the time has come. It's time to sell the CRD. I don't have the time, money, or skills to fix this thing. I think I need to cut my losses and sell the heep to someone who can fix it and give it another life. I had a compression test done and cylinder 3 is 50# low on compression, and with a bore scope down where the fuel injector goes they could see that the tip of my glow plug had broken off and is now wedged in-between the piston and the cylinder wall/sleeve. At the minimum the jeep will need the head removed to fully diagnose the issue. Once again, I don't have time, money, or skills to do this work. That being said; what do you guys think it's worth? It has 144,XXX miles on it. Oil changed regularly, timing belt, water pump, and pulleys done at 100k, has weeks intake elbow and Samco hoses with less than 3000 miles on them, transmission fluid and filter changed less than 75k ago, 4 new steel glow plugs, low flow fuel pump installed right next to the tank, updated fuel head, with an extra fuel filter, Bfg ATs with about 40k on them. If someone is looking for a project, then this is it. Throw a number my way. I'm located in Northern VA, about 40mi south of Washington DC right off I-95. |

That is a lot of work that the engine could need... I don't know what you would be able to get for that, really. Bummer man. |
