Driving home Easter Sunday my engine dropped a valve and went BOOM...I bought a NEW Factory complete engine and had it installed...Afterward, I had the front swaybar bushings and end links replaced, new inner and outer tie rods, new (factory) rear upper control arm and had my propeller shaft upgraded (http://www.ccidriveline.com/jeep/liberty-kj-1.html) and re-installed....It drives like new now....HJ

Jack, any idea as to what caused the valve to drop?

It was a factory NEW complete engine...It included more then a long block.....the only old parts used were the hoses and what is left after the engine was pulled.....Keith bought the engine from Chrysler back in 06 I think...HJ

Can you tell us how much it was and if this engine is available to the masses, or was just a good find from Keith? Not trying to be nosy just curious, I thought about sourcing a new spare engine.

It was a good find that Keith had and was sitting on (and he was willing to part with)....I'd rather not say how much..I've see used engines with 90,000 with a price tag of $4500...not sure if they sell for that but hat was the asking price...HJ

Totally understand, especially if nobody else can commonly get such a deal, knowing the price would do more harm than good. Thanks!
