Saw one of these listed on cragslist.


Buyer is asking $700.
M1101 trailer.
1450 lbs dry weight.
1950 lb capacity
3400 lb GVW.

I'm looking to use it as a general utility trailer and for camping.

It looks cool as hell but am concerned about its weight, use of surge brakes, pintle hitch, and its width (almost 86 inches wide).
Just not sure how it would handle behind a Liberty.

Plus it has 24v lights that would need to be converted to 12volt.
And its never been registered so I have no idea how difficult it would be to get a military surplus trailer registered for highway use.

Oh, and I might have to get more lift just so I can tow it level

What do you guys think?

It's cool but for what your wanting to do is it really practical? The kid in me is saying yes, but the adult me is saying no and go with a traditional utility trailer.

Fyi, you wouldn't have to convert the lights. They could run on 12 volts they just would be dim.
