I have a 2005 liberty CRD, my cruise isnt working and I've got a P0589, is that related? When I try to set it the light on the dash doesn't come on. I've checked the cruise buttons, clockspring and brake switch they all seem to be working. Has anyone had a similar problem? Any ideas of what else to check?

P0589 Cruise Ctrl Multi-Function Input B Circ

This could be a bad switch on the steering wheel, a bad clock spring inside the steering wheel, or possibly a blown fuse.

So I finally check the cruise switch wiring from the ecm to the switches and it is good. I checked the switches themselves, they're good. Any other ideas?

I had a faulty brake light switch at the pedal that wouldn't allow the cruise to work. Easy to check, just see if your brake lights are stuck on all the time...
