I replaced the springs, struts and shocks with old man emu, but now its getting soft. I drive the crd on the highway like a sports car and do love the gde hot tune torque.

My question is do I install new one struts and shocks and carry on or is there something better? What about suspension bushing replacement?

How many miles on OME shocks/struts? How old are they?

Was in the same boat as you a few weeks back. Jeep was driving sloppy...not tracking straight...clunking over any speed bumps. Check out these two threads. Ended up doing a bit of work, including brakes and adding .75" more lift to the OME setup. Jeep rides and drives MUCH BETTER now.

Looks good Darby but I don't want more lift, just less bounce. Do I replace the shocks and strut ome or can someone suggest a better shock?

The rear Bilsteins (two sets) went bad on ours because of overheated fluid. (We routinely tow a 5000 lb horse trailer WITH equalizer bars, but it was obviously too much for them. Bilstein dynoed them and confirmed.) Have new OMEs on the rear now and they are good for the moment, but from what I have read, 3 years/50K mIles is about their limit. Bilstein offered to custom valve some external reservoir shocks (5165s, I think) for the rear for us. Would probably be about $800 for the pair. I have a new set of Konis, but Bilstein blew up one of the rears dynoing them and I need to get a replacement.

I have all the dyno test results for Bilsteins, OMESs and Konis. Have to get around to posting them all.

You don't have to do the extra lift. I was posting for the other issues I had and the fixes.

Thanks Doc. I guess OME's are the way to go for replacement.

BTW, the OME rears are a LOT stiffer than Bilstein, when new. I loved the Bilsteins when new. If you do not tow, they will probably last a very long time. Also, they come with a lifetime warranty. OME is only 3 years.

I tow my Airstream with the CRD. About 3000 lbs.
