I also changed from stock wheels/tires to Moabs with BFG KOs...so all I'm going to say right now is that it feels more like a JEEP and less like a nimble little SUV....probably because I don't want to scrap the wheel wells!

Long story made short ( for now). Just finished installing a full JBA 2.5 in silver package plus changed all the ball joints, tie rods and front hubs/ bearings. After a full alignment I'm driving it and it is okay on the highway but is making several sounds when hitting bumps. The most worrisome is a loud thunking/ popping sound coming from the drivers front suspension. Any ideas on what's happening? |

Did you forget to tighten some bolts? That would be the first thing I'd check. |

? Was the upper control arm bolts tightened after the full weight of the vehicle was on the ground? |

Just got off the phone with JBA, I think it may be that I torqued the UCA bolts in the extended position. If that doesn't fix it I'll disconnect the driver sway bar. |

Retorqued the UCA and all the sway bar items ( just to make sure)...then the sway bar didn't want to cooperate  Ended up taking about a 10 mile test drive through varied conditions and then hit the road for a 12 hour drive to the mountains! The noise is GONE!I will definitely be posting some pictures, but i wondered if I should do a full lessons learned write up also. ...  PS - put the old stock tires back on for the highway and the MPGs didn't look bad for the conditions. |
