Her is a copy of an email I sent to Draw Tight regarding the FCA recall:

I am very pleased with my Draw Tight Hitch I installed in 2007 and it has served me well. I keep getting notices from Fiat Chrysler that they want to Inspect/Swap it out for their inferior junk. One Jeep Liberty owner with a Draw Tight hitch showed a copy of his receipt and they told him it does not meet the specs.
To be honest, I trust your Engineers who know one end of a receiver from the other more than some Dealer Tech who makes fast money by swapping out the hitch and little for inspecting it.
What is your stance on your Superior Product over the FCA low bid junk? I would love a letter I could shove into their face if you have one.
Thanks,

Note: The dealer has screwed up 2 of the last 3 recalls.
The Fuel filter head swap went OK
The front Lower Ball Joint recall they screwed up the front end alignment.
The rear lower control arm recall, it now goes thump under hard acceleration or braking. I did replace the upper rear ball joint just before the recall and had no noise.

Well duh.....................

Replacing any suspension part can and will mess up the alignment.

Chrysler disagrees with your position.

I went on a 1000 mile road trip the day after my LBJ were done under recall and trashed my front tires...I agree with your position...

The Jeep Dealer should have aligned the front end when they did the ball joint recall.
It is half @$$ed not to.
Had I done it myself I would have roughed in the alignment and had an appointment at a competent alignment shop the next morning to set it right.

Another reason I would not trust this dealer with a ISIS vehicle let alone mine.

Interesting, I've only ever had one notice for each recall. I'm still pending on the rear control arm and hitch. Do they have more of a legal responsibility to ensure that recalls are completed in the US?

Must be.
In the US the Bureaucrats are more driven by Emotion and in Canada more by the Contract.

To be honest and putting in some Laws of Physics with some Common Sense, not prevalent with any Bureaucrats.
Gasoline is more of a fire hazard than Diesel Fuel. Therefore all of the Gassers should get the Hitch before the Diesels.

I was talking to a guy at work who told me his wife was driving her liberty (gasser) with factory installed hitch. She got rear ended, caught fire, and was lucky to make it out with only minor injuries.
A fuel tank skid plate would be much better protection than a tow hitch.

I dont plan on taking my CRD in for the recall. Whatever it is they do to it wont make it any more safe. It just a waste of time.

I've received three mailed notices (trashed), 2 cell phone calls (now blocked) and 3 home phone calls. They're driving me bonkers.

I will not have the local screwup rape artist dealer replace my 2 yr old Pro Series hitch with their recall POS.

I think I'm going in and waste their time and drink their coffee and refuse to let them change anything. They either approve what I have or not.

Let us know if they pull anything.

What to do before you visit a Stealer, install the OBDII Rape Guard:
