I test drove a 2006 crd and when taking off there was a hesitation or severe lack of power until the turbo kicked in. Also there was no indication on the dash when I tried to turn off the overdrive. Any ideas what could be the problem?

Too hard to tell.
You would need to hook up a code scanner to get more details.
I suspect its a transmission problem and the TCM is stuck in limp mode, but really, it could be anything.

It might be temperature related. My 2006 doesn't accelerate as well before hitting the 1/4 mark on the temp gauge. It became more noticeable after the GDE tune too.

x2 on warm up required.

Make sure that once its warmed up, the temp gauge goes at least to just a tick left of straight up. If it doesn't you likely will need a new thermostat soon. subtract at least $200 from the price (Thermostat is not cheap).

If the codes don't give you a clue, you will need to do some research and read up.
Chances are that if it has not been fitted with a Lift Pump, it may have air in the fuel system.
I have done a lot of mods over the years and mine takes off with a light touch on the accelerator.
Others who have made the mods have the same results.
There is a lot of Bean Counter Engineering that needs to be undone.
If you don't want to spend the money and do the work, settle for the de-tuned stock.

Mine is doing this exact same thing. It feels like it has not power so you really get on the gas, and then the turbo spools and you take off like a rocket. Where did u test drive it?
