I recently found a leak in my condenser. I also learned that this is a special order product or dealer only part. Does anyone know where else I might be able to find this part, other than through a dealer? The part # is 5184361AA.

I just googled "2005 liberty ac condenser diesel" and it looks like they run about $55 at parts geek

I saw that too.
But there was a note that it DID NOT have the built in transmission cooler.
So a separate transmission cooler would have to be installed with it.

That's part of the problem. I'm looking for one with the transmission oil cooler. I don't mind if the part is used also. The dealer quoted me at $430 for a new part through them, but I'm not willing to spend that much if I can get it elsewhere.

Odd - apparently my post did not "take"

Basically I wondered if anyone knew enough about the fit of the KJ gasser vs CRD radiator and AC condenser. Seems to me the physical location of the tranny cooler doesn't matter (bottom of radiator in gasser vs bottom of AC condenser in CRD) with the possible exception of cooler hose routing which is not a deal breaker.

If a KJ gasser AC condenser will fit and function then asonyi do to math. KJ gasser AC condenser $55 + auxiliary tranny cooler ca. $50 (lots of posts on how to install) = ca. $150 vs. $450.

I have no clue but wanted to toss out the thought/question.

I did a little more research on this. The part # i got the first time around was incorrect. The right part # is 5183561aa. The condenser and trans oil cooler are all one part, and not two separate parts. So I don't think buying a condenser and trans oil cooler separately would work in this case.

I think you are missing my point. Yes on the CRD the AC condenser and transmission cooler are a single piece/part and the gasser condenser lacks the transmission cooler. However, if the gasser condenser will fit into the CRD and function correctly as part of the AC system (I cannot answer this question) then you can save yourself lots of $s by using a gasser condenser and buying and installing a separate after market transmission cooler. Installing an after market transmission cooler is a standard fix for almost any vehicle with a leaky OEM transmission cooler as doing so is much cheaper than a new radiator/AC condenser with an integral transmission cooler.

the gasser one fits , you just have to put another trans cooler some where else

I cut the trans cooler off my old one and using that , you can cut them apart with a hack saw

I got mine from Ebay:

I looked into using the gasser condenser and an aftermarket tranny cooler, but I couldn't find something that would still fit behind and take advantage of the electric fan.
