| Post subject: | ABS, Brake and ESP lights on .....AGAIN |
So once again my ABS, Brake and ESP lights are on. The last time this happened it ended up being a broken wire in the passenger side rear harness. When this happened before, I was able to pull the codes and help pinpoint the problem. This time there are no codes!?!? Here's whats been done: A month ago I rebuilt the front end. New upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, bushings, swaybar links etc...etc. Promptly had the front end aligned and all was good for roughly 3 weeks. No more clunking, front end was tight as new Without warning last week, (as if there is ever a warning) the dash lit up with the 3 lights. I thought awe crap another broken wire. Welp last night I went through the whole process of checking all the sensors, continuity through the wires etc and everything is fine. I tried 2 different code readers which have always worked with ABS codes in the past and nothing. I'm not really sure on where to look from here. Will a broken clock spring cause the lights without throwing a code??? Also considered a bad ABS control module??? If its not communicating perhaps it won't throw a code??? I've been reading through the old posts on this subject for a couple of hours now and I'm not seeing the answer I'm hoping for. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've been reading a bunch about this recently myself. I had the broken wire in the rear harness, and just fixed. However, while researching, I ran across several threads where a loose main harness connector near the ABS module was the culprit. It might be worth a check. Mike |

I'm going to ask, even though I assume you did, did you replace both of the front wheel hub assemblies when you did the other front end work? The ABS sensor inside those could be going out, even on a "new" one. Food for thought. |
