After bleeding almost $2k and lots of wrenching. I went back pulled out my newly purchased obII usb mppsV13 cable.
I will still most likely send my ECU off to GDE after I get the new fan and radiator installed.
Loaded the software onto mt windows 7 64bit pro laptop following the youtube video below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN8B_aHa_KY Very straight forward.
I was very careful to follow instructions and make sure my laptop was plugged in to a power source and the vehicle battery connected to a trickle charger.
set the mpps as shown below in green text. Squeeto gets all the credit !
Once the software is up and running turn the key to on position, Just before the start position.
The software will ID your ECU upper right hand corner ... of the mpps window.
Press read ... takes a few minutes. Once that completes it will ask where to save your ECU's stock map file.
*good idea to make a back up to your back up. lol
Uploading a tune .... To Be continued.
The one question I have after reading most of the main thread for DIY ECU flash is ...
Which file to grab for what year, from the list of tunes provided by Yeti and others?
I want to progress slow threw the tunes. Since I have the weeks StageII kit and upgraded Torq Conv I will have the chance to try the HOT tunes in time, no rush.
So in a nut shell which file should I flash first for my 2005 keep the stock tune but remove the codes for my mods.
Thanks
