On a side note; several people have opted to not change the seal or pump and had good results. Maybe there are bad ones out there, or maybe it has to do with heavy use or fluid change frequency? hmm

It seems Chrysler has reclassified the 545RFE front pump to remanufactured. Part #68009879AE is no longer available. The reman part number is RL009879AE. The price of the reman is significantly higher and the pump has a $100 core charge. The going rate on the web is about $520 + shipping. I decided to check Mitsubishi because the 2006-2007 Mitsubishi Raider uses the Dodge Dakota drivetrain. I found the new 68009879AE pump for $326 + shipping. That's a little more than I could have bought it for a month ago, but a lot better than $500. I ordered the pump from Mitsubishi while they are still available.
