I recently asked if installing the Week's EGR Delete kit could cause issues with diesel runaway since the Flow Control Valve is removed in the process. Since then it looks like the thread was deleted.

1) Does anyone know the answer to my question.

2) What happened to the thread?

He has a web site at https://shop.sasquatchparts.com/

The overrun protection issue has been beaten to death or at least I hope so. See for example viewtopic.php?f=5&t=82274&p=868495#p868495 . To have an overrun there has to be an external to the fuel system supply of burnable fuel such as a) massive amounts of atmospheric hydrocarbons such as might occur with a stationary diesel engine at a petroleum refinery or b) injection of fuel directly into the intake other than from the injectors. The only way this can occur on the CRD is a total failure of the "bearing" in the turbo which dumps oil directly into the intake. If this happens a runaway is theoretically possible but somewhat irrelevant as loss of oil that way will destroy the engine's bottom end in practically no time. The only very brief runaway reported on the forum was one member who had a less than catastrophic turbo failure which left a significant amount of oil in the intercooler and upon restart, without cleaning the intercooler, there was a brief harmless runaway.

I searched for Weeks101 posts and found only a few of them. It seems many of them just vaporized. Was Weeks101 a vendor? If not, Heather may have caught up with him.

Sorry for the threads disappearing, I am hoping they are back up soon. Heather is making some changes to the vendor forums. My threads are in the process of being moved over to the new CRD Vendors section and I will have a sticky in this forum to make everything easier to find.

You can always reach out to us via our contact page if you ever have any questions: https://shop.sasquatchparts.com/contact/

Thanks,
Seth

Update: the threads are back! We also now have a "sticky" thread located at the top of the CRD forum with links to all of our product threads: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=82759
