twice in the last few days i have have the dreaded no start issue, turn key and 'click'. one was after a hot shutdown when coming home from work commute. The other was after the truck sat at work for 10 hours. both times i needed a boost to get the truck started. I had originally thought the crank position sensor was to blame, but after getting the one year old battery tested, (they found several internal shorts) I was able to rule out the sensor. The alternator is new and was tested as well, so was the starter. Bought a brand new 1000 CA (800 CCA) battery and installed it. Truck fires right up with authority still have a hot start issue sometimes due to the air in the lines (RACOR filter head soon to be installed as well as a lift pump). check your batteries and have them tested before getting dirty and poor replacing the crank sensor. hope this helps. ![]() |

Yep internal battery shorts can cause very weird start / no start problems. Same happened to me decades ago with an essentially brand new battery. |
