So I might have the opportunity to replace my fuel tank. I have a brand new lift pump I bought from a CRD owner and now might be the time for the upgrade.

Any reason I shouldn't? Has anyone had a negative experience? I figure enough time has gone by to poll the group.

I have an '06 CRD and I'm assuming I have the factory fuel filter head--will the increase in pressure from the tank cause anything to start leaking? Currently my fuel system is working well--except for the 1/4'' hole I just put in my fuel tank. Ha.

Thanks!

It is positively one of the best mods you can do to your Jeep CRD! There are no negatives, only positives! The motor will run better, idle smoother, and any leaks in the fuel system will be evident immediately...
It should have been there from the factory!!!!

1 negative I can think of. It a pain to get to the wires under the back seat. Otherwise all good over here.

Speaking of wiring harnesses, this is the one that I have: part # 56047848AB

I've been reading various write-ups and I'm a little confused as to how much modding I'm going to have to do the the harness itself. Some write-ups mention needing to change the position of one of the pins.

From what I can tell, this comes from the '06 Gasser.

Does anyone have any insight into the one that I've got?

Thanks!
