I am getting a code 1267. I have cleaned to terminals and still the same code. Has anyone replaced the relay for the glow plugs? Thanks, Tom |

It's most likely GP #4. Have you checked it's resistance yet? If it's blown and you're still using ceramics get it out ASAP. |

Dirtmover, Thanks for the reply. When I reworked the head gasket and rockers I should have paid better attention to the plugs. I pulled them and the tips didn't appear to be ceramic. The OEM ceramics are 7V while the all metal are 5V correct? There are several sets on ebay with the relay included too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOPAR-56044671AC-68090430AA-Glow-Plug-Controller-Kit-Set-for-Liberty-2-8L-/310769276459?fits=Make%3AJeep|Model%3ALiberty&hash=item485b4ad62b&vxp=mtr I'd be much better off to buy the 4 plugs separately along with a new relay versus the link I posted above . Do you recall how many ohms is normal for a "good" glow plug? Thanks again, Tom |

Do you have 7v or 5v glow plugs? 7v glow pkugs can be metal too. If your CRD got the 5v upgrade it should be documented somewhere. |

If you recall what they looked like the tip of the ceramic is very distinctive viewtopic.php?f=5&t=63113 If metal they can be 5v Bosch or 7v etecno1. 5v would have to be dealer programmed so it would be on your service records. |

The definitive way to check is to actually pull the glow plug out and read voltage from the rim of the glow plug. #4 glow plug is not that hard to pull. You will need to remove the fuel head. Soak with PB blaster or Kroil before attempting to remove the glow plug. Make sure you use anti-sieze when putting back and torque it properly for removal next time! |
