Broken rear lower control arm. I am in Northern Virginia and Virginia is not in the salt-belt states that got the recall. When it broke driving was interesting as the rear kept going off to,the side. Glad I was not driving fast at the time. Hope jeep corp is reading this forum. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/dyacf4s9iwtj6kd/AABUkyUNRrJ3KSssfKwKocP6a |

I was getting ready to say that they were under recall. I guess I was unaware of it not being a nationwide recall. Sorry about your luck |

Glad u survived what a ride. Was it rusty or maybe a little beat up from off roading? How many miles on it? Just one more upgrade for us all to do ![]() |

I would have thought that a control arm would be solid but these are hollow and probably only 1/8" thick at that. I would not want one to break while traveling at highway speed for sure! |

Or maybe you got the jeep used from the north? For example my rear lcas looked very good when I replaced them under the recall, but who knows... Chrysler quality... |

Thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to get this recall done for quite a while but kept putting off. I do check them a couple of times a year since we use a sh** load of salt here but they're not in too bad shape considering. Yeah, Chrysler quality I guess. |

Nope...bought it here in Northern Virginia right outside Wash DC. Again, if these are on all Libbys then there are going to be folks surprised over time. Very eerie feeling to have one break while driving. Wonder if they will pay for the parts if I am only 8 miles south of DC? Hmm.... |

You should argue they'll do the recall, obviously the jeep needs the replacements. Also, filing a complaint with national highway traffic safety administration may help? |

I do not know for a fact, but I don't see why not, there are ppl driving these offroad. You may be better off asking this in kj 4x4 subforum. |
