I was getting a CEL and 3 times so far when really hot the jeep went into limp mode, the engine seemed to be starving for fuel at wide open throttle.
I ran the engine codes and got the P0725 and so I ordered the Crankshaft position sensor and installed it last Tuesday. On Friday morning CEL came back on , I ran the code and got P0652
Sensor reference voltage B-. After clearing the code it ran fine for a day , last night the CEL came back on again. I cleared the code again but this time when I put it in reverse, there is a terrible shudder and I can barely drive in reverse for the first few seconds. It drives fine in forward but has trouble with reverse. clearing the code again, the CEL comes back as soon as reverse is used.

Does anybody know where I should start? when changing the crankshaft sensor I was careful to put the heat shield back, the loom of wires that the CPS is plugged into splits off and goes to the transmission I think. the wire loom covering all of my wires is starting to get brittle and flake away, Did I ruin a transmission sensor or wiring?
any thoughts?

First check that the connector is seated all the way. After that, I would take a close look at the pins and make sure they are seated correctly int the plug.
