I know this has been written about numerous times but this is interesting to say the least.

I kept getting erratic ABS/ESP lights on the dash and wanted to catch the code so hooked up my code reader while driving. Had these happen before and caught the code and fixed the problem easy pezy. When the lights came on the code I read was P0101 and no others. This code went away with the ABS/ESP lights.

What's up with this? Anyone have this happen?

Also can the GDE flash/code reader read ABS/ESP codes??

My alterations to my CRD are in my signature.

I realized that ESP light comes on every time you read codes. I was freaked out as well first time I saw this after an ECU update. If you power cycle the key then the ESP light will go away. There is really no ESP/ABS problem. Some crazy engineer decided to use ESP/ABS light as an "acknowledgement" of the ECU entering OBDII mode. FYI: MAF is only required for EGR functionality so you really don't have to fix MAF sensor.

I get the ESCP/ABS without reading any codes just going down the highway. I then hooked up the code reader and it said P0101. The P0101 should through a CEL but it don't.

That is weird. May be something to do with EcoTune

I had the abs lights come on the dash due to a cable by the back tires that was severed partially. Once we cleared it up the no more Christmas tree on my dash. Image

If you have a gde tune i dont believe it will show a cel. I have the same code with the hot tune and no light.

Is the P0101 real or part of the GDE tune. I saw in a post GDE saying that all the engines that had a P0101 had bad rockers. That can't be with mine just replaced them 20Kmiles ago.

P0101 is a MAF fault code. Typically doesn't mean bad rockers.

My 05 CRD is giving a MAF sensor code. I replaced the sensor, cleared the code but it came back within 100 miles. I have not done any modifications to the engine. I replaced the timing belt and water pump 6,000 miles ago. anyone had this problem?

Clean the MAF sensor with some cleaner designed for MAF's. they are available at most parts stores.... You may have a dirty MAF sensor?
Make sure your air filter is clean!
I have a DIY Hot tune and have run with a good diagnostic tool plugged into the diagnostic port for days on end and never received any codes just because I had it plugged in while driving.....
