With the AC push button off, my AC still wants to cycle on for a couple seconds then turn off. What is the likely cause for this? Thanks!

Are you sure that what you hear is the AC compressor cycling?
Can you observe the center of the AC pulley spinning while this is happening after the button has been turned off?
What is the vent setting at? Face, floor, or defog?

I know the electric fan will keep running for a minute or two after you turn the AC off, but I have not observed the AC clutch to keep engaging.

What you describe may be normal.
If its only a few seconds, there might be some sort of delay built in to system.
Otherwise, maybe the AC relay is sticking?

Even with a/c switch off a/c runs in all defrost settings. Some have a "fix" of modifying the contacts in the selector.

:banghead: been discussed before; the AC cycles, regardless of AC switch or temp control position, to reduce cabin humidity in several vent position "modes". Read your Owner's Manual, top shelf in glove box of download from Owner's section of Jeep site.

Nothing new for Jeep or any vehicle with AC manufactured in the last several decades.
