What the heck kind of filter its that? It looks like you just took a flat panel Fram air filter and wrapped it around a piece of PVC pipe.

No power increase I can tell. The turbo whine is much louder. The filter is a Fram CA 9345 wi5h a 3 x 3 pvc and a rubber coupler from Lowes. |

I did a similar thing using a aftermarket conical filter. Yes, more turbo noise but no real increase in power. Once summer came around I noticed that my intake air temperatures were extremely high (about 150F) so I went back to the stock setup. |

What did you do with the sensor on the side of the airbox? Reminds me of the 6637 on my ford 7.3. Looks good. |

I put the little sensor on the pvc tube shown in the picture. I have the MAF disconnected. Will the check engine light go out if I plug the MAF back in or will I need to goto Autozone and have the CEL cleared? |

Auto Zone doesn't possess a scanner that will work on that little Pasta Diesel, Sorry. |

I have the same kind of setup on my 5.9 Dodge and while it too gave a bit more turbo noise, the increase in power was quite noticeable. Plus, the air-filter is much easier to service now. I have a snorkel on my jeep, so this setup wouldn't work for me, but was curious if there was an increase in performance. |

When I had my Cummins Dodge it made a noticeable improvement. |

FYI.......The OEM application for the Fram CA9345 is Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Ranier, Oldsmobile Bravada with 4.2L or 5.3L engine. |

The 6637 has a neck where the 9345 does not. I think the neck will make it easier to securely attach it to a tube, but the 6637 may be too large to fit in the Liberty. |

You probably wont see an increase in power since boost is controlled so closely with the turbo. Even if it did flow substantially better the turbo is still going to target the same boost. |

I think it's a cool mod, but I don't see anything supporting that filter. Anyone who's owned one of these for any amount of time will tell you that the turbo inlet hose is known to fail, specifically at the bottom and around the clamp area. This weight added to the end of said hose will most likely increase movement and therefore decrease the longevity of the turbo inlet hose. That's my

Eureka boy had a similar mod, years ago. He said also he didn't notice any improvement, but noticed his filter getting dirty and wet a lot faster. It depends I guess on what climate you live in. |
