What was your KJ doing that made them replace it. I am having a clunk from the rear of the vehicle. I can feel it thru my automatic gear shift as well as hear it. Them have had it for a week with no solution. It clunks when I come to a stop. |

Mine has always seemed a little slack but so was the new Rubicon I drove, the old CJ I drove years back and my daughters boy friends Wrangler. I just figured it was a Jeep thing. |

Just had it in for a scheduled oil change and the said the ujoints were shot so the replaced them. I did not notice a difference as far as shaking but fuel milage did go up 2 mpg immediately following the repair. |

We had a clunking issue with our '05 CRD. First round at the dealer they replaced both lower front ball joints as well as the track bar joint on top of the rear diff housing. It still clunked. It would clunk when you came to a stop and clunk again when you accelerated. Turned out to be a loose passenger side motor mount. Once that was torqued properly, all was well. No issues with the u-joints (yet), but I would be apalled that with 20k miles, we would have failed ball joints, u-joints, track bar joint, and a locked up rear caliper (the Holy Smoking Brakes thread). The CRD motor might be a nice piece of kit, but the chassis they put it in is a piece of cr*p. I can't believe the Liberty suspension and drivetrain is so problem-plagued after this many years in production.... Chris |

I noticed a 'clunk' putting it into Drive from park or neutral. Had assumed it was just a bit of slack in the transfer case but it might be worth checking out at the dealership. |

Your Dealer has a problem if they need two weeks to diagnose your problem. |

Let me guess your taking yours into Integrity too. They told me there was another guy with the same issues. Check out my clunk thread. They told me they are talking with engineering as well. I've started a buy back on it hopefully I can get out of it. |

I'm hearing a simillar clunk. I think it's in the trans. Mine showed up when my trans started dropping out of gear and not backing uphill. According to my dealer it's just another one of my imaginary friends. |
