Come on now, you should know I have already made my order. Hopefully you have put the new ecm in the mail. It is killing me to drive it without the tune. I can almost feel the engine choking on that soot with every stroke. Thanks for developing a tune for the Ecodiesel. I would not have bought the truck without one of your tunes to go in it.
Lol. That makes you the 3rd I know that got the ram because it had a gde tune available. Get on the ram1500diesel forum.
Choochooman, I'll be keeping the crd for now, it runs too good and there are too many things replaced on it to be worth selling. Plus the crd fits in my garage, versus the tall ram m-effer...
The downside of ram is, in my opinion, maintenance. Oil changes 10.5 qt and the low ash diesel "euro" oil in 5w30 is available at about $10/qt, oil filter is I think about $50-ish (gde is running Rotella t6 in theirs with no issues, which is also low ash - this can save you some cash), full of sensors and electronics and obviously dealers, at least most of them from what I hear, are as clueless as they have been regarding the crd. But with gde tune, you get easy 3-4 more mpg. Best I got was 31. Regular driving about 27. Same drive with crd I get about 25 and best about same as ram. And crd should have no restrictions due to bad bearings, axles, breaks, etc, most of the stuff is new. Maybe using the non synthetic Lucas Diff oil 85w140 which is very thick...but I doubt.
Congrats for the gde tuned Laramie! Nice truck. Idparts.com has some consumables for the ram also, if you prefer doing maintenance yourself.
