When reusing the valve cover gasket should you use any silicone or just reinstall and torque to required specs. |

don't use silicone! you can put some red gasket maker locktite 518 ( big trucks detroit diesel engine use this sealant , works well ,silicone can plug your oil supply !! |

You dont need anything on that gasket. Just torque it down. |

Replace it. It's in too deep to want to go back in to replace it later. |

If it comes off intact just clean it and reuse it. I've done it a number of times without an issue. |
