Congrat's on the new addition, I was interested in them as well however the road conditions that I drive on won't allow me to have a car :JEEPIN: , I'am however going to keep a close eye on the new baby D-max in the Colorado/Canyon, I'll give them a year or so and see how they turn out. I think GM is on the right path giving us more choices in diesel power.

I just need a GDE tune for it ;) (keith :) )

Plan on keeping the Jeeps a long time so this will keep the miles off of them

I looked at an Eco(gas) model a few years back and they had way more room than you would ever guess looking from the outside. The trunk is huge.

Yeah, I was looking at a Cruze at a dealership that didn't have any of the diesels laying around. You aren't kidding, GM has really done a lot at making the interiors of their vehicles huge. I was certainly impressed with the size and comfort of the interior and the trunk looked like it could hold a huge amount of gear.

You guys should take a look at the ram Eco diesel. I think it's a very nice truck, and gde also has a tune for it.

Edit: the cheapest Eco diesel comes at about 32-ish k, maybe a bit more than a crude (edit: cruze) or tdi, but still cheap for a truck

I think best time is after they release the new model. They can knock out 15-20% off of msrp without question. If you're a good negociator you can score even a better deal. But keep in mind it's still a vm engine. Parts and consumables are scarce and very expensive.

Not only that, but DaimlerChrysler did not support ANY of their domestic diesel engines well at all. Somehow I doubt FCA will do any better.

No more Mopar for me - Chrysler has completely abandoned the support side for their products, and the "dealer training" makes me think that even if they hadn't abandoned the CRD entirely... It would have been a giant clusterfuck anyway.

Oh wait... Anyone that goes to a dealership IS fuxxed pretty good... Or "Rogered" for our Canadian brothers.
