Finally got the Liberty back to life, I had found a donor engine that seemed to be a decent find about a month ago after spending the last 2 years trying to find the right deal. I bought it from a reputable auto salvage. These things are hard enough to find in all of North America let alone Canada. I got it home and had full intentions of just doing the timing kit but soon turned into a full out "replace whatever may need to be". - ID parts timing belt kit with water pump. - New set of rockers. - New intake gasket. - Turbo replacement. - Weeks stage 1 & 2 EGR delete kit. - New viscous fan from old engine. - New Etecno glow plugs. - New engine Isolator mounts. - New fuel filter. I also did the EHM mod (going to keep a very close eye on this one), Also I cannot find the proper coolant at any of the auto parts stores up here so I just went to a dealer and bought the proper stuff from Chrysler. I fired it up and it seems to run perfect, just hope it stays that way. ![]() |

I learned from my last trip up there that Canadian Tire also carries an HOAT coolant - I can't remember the name on the jug, BUT it said it specifically in the small print that it was a Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (HOAT) coolant and that is exactly what the CRD needs. From what I remember, Ford Motorcraft Gold is also an HOAT, and many other ELC (Extended Life Coolants) may also be HOAT - but they have to say it on the jug. Glad you got it running again! |

Possibly this one http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/oem-v ... i4YBZfIzRY which is also sold as MS9769 compliant. It looks somewhat nondescript but the manufacturer also owns a number or instantly recognizable global brands. |

Could be! In the Q&A, Canadian Tire's rep responded that this is an HOAT coolant for 2012 and older Mopar. |

I think there's mounting evidence that the EHM may be leading to bad rear main seals. Go Provent or back to factory is my take on it, or you may be like me, and have a bad main seal. I did not have any ice in the tube, or any other obstruction. I think GMCTD said something about the proper pressure not being there with the EHM mod, plus it's messy ![]() Congrats on the revival ![]() |

Yeah I'm starting to get the same feeling. May go back to factory. The oil shouldn't bother too much as I now have no egr. Also there is a lot of fumes that come out of the ehm. |

Yeah, like Geordi also said, the oil will clean any gunk out of the intake over time; although I imagine that you already have a cleaned intake since you had it apart. I just started a thread about efficiency of the MAP with the oil on it, but I've seen a jeep with the stock CCV tube in place, and EGR deleted get nearly 40 mpg on the highway at 65mph, so I seriously doubt that the oil makes any difference. I'm installing a new CCV puck with my new main seal for insurance. If that pressure regulation is off, it takes out the seal ![]() |

If you want to read the thread that covers in detail the problems caused by lack of vacuum on the CCV system? http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=80491&hilit I too first did the EHM but then installed a ProVent system when this information surfaced last year. Live and learn!!! ![]() |

I took the EHM off and put it back to factory, I've put too much money into this thing to be messing around with something that may cause an issue, also it can get very cold up here and I would constantly be looking under it to see if it was freezing off.. |

I am also not in favor of the EHM setups anymore, once the EGR is blocked, then the oil coming in from the CCV is no longer anything to be concerned with. |

Except it rots your intake hose. |

CATCRD wrote: Except it rots your intake hose. Yes, true... But that takes a long time, where the EHM will cause mayhem at any time and without warning. There is the potential of developing a silicone version of the intake hose though. |
