So the Liberty is running great since the install, the only thing I noticed tonight when I took it out for a good run was that the vacuum pump or whatever that thing is has a quite noticeable buzzing sound coming from it and the solenoid where the wire plugs into it is fairly hot. Any suggestions what this maybe caused from? it was working good before as far as I can recall. Also what kind of issues would a poor or no vacuum have on the vehicle. Thanks. |

Forgot to mention that everything seems good except I felt that it maybe a bit underpowered. |

All the vacuum controls for the turbo are right behind the air filter box. The vacuum reservoir is a rectangular shaped thingy. There are two vacuum solenoids, a small one and a large one. The large one has a small filter attached to its bottom and is probably the one thats getting all hot and buzzy. Replace it and the small filter. |

So I took a closer look tonight and pulled the vacuum hose off of the turbo and observed the linkage drop down and come up when it was hooked back up, I did this several times and it appears to move quite freely. As for the buzzing solenoid there is still a buzzing sound and it gets hot off and on, not consistant. I ordered a new small solenoid ( one with the blue nipple) and I will replace it anyways. I took it out for another run and I think it's maybe working ok now. I have only test drove it in the dark so far as it is dark when I get home from work, so later this week I will go for a good drive in the daylight and check for smoke and such. I have forgotten how noisy this little thing is after not driving it for 2 years, after driving my new Silverado which is deathly quiet. |
