Had to be towed on Monday. Thought it was the xmission. Clutch was shot. This was crd2 and has a bit over 100k.

Clutch failure?
As in, manual transmission clutch?
Or do you mean torque converter clutch?
Automatic transmissions have lots of clutches.

If it was your torque converter clutch, why did you have to have it towed?
The torque converter will still function without a lockup clutch. You just wont get full lockup in 4th and 5th gears.
Maybe the torque converter failed in some other way?

Torque convertor. Got it back this morning. $550 total and $85 tow. $325 rental car for a week.
I was taking it to my xmission guy because it was slipping between 2nd and 3 rd. was going on Monday, went out on Saturday. That was crd2. Forced me to pill the cover off crd1 and do the timing belt. First time on that belt. Looked good

The xmission shop has no English, the only word the manager/owner used was clutch.
And burned out. I was doing about 60 and the rpm s started to go up and down and I lost speed and drifted to the shoulder. No go.. No noise either.
