I must be pushing the limit then. I have 60K miles on the CRD since I bought it without changing the fuel filter. I don't want to change it for fear of a leak.

I think you should better "chance" replacing the filter on your own terms rather than getting stuck somewhere when you have the least will and possibilities to replace it. Changes are you shouldn't get any air in fuel if you don't already have one.

I just went and ordered a Racor unit because once I installed the lift pump I was having the opposite problem. Fuel was pouring out of the heater plug.

Replaced my filter head as well. With a lift pump could not see the reason for fitting a filter head with a primer pump so I fitted a simpler version.

Yours have a heater element? Which one?

I purchased a filter head for a Fiat Ducato van. This car has a lift pump fitted as standard and the filter head has the same plastic heater/puk/thermostat.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-RELAY ... SwBLlVKMyL

Found this youtube video of how big the WDK-962/12 MANN INDUSTRIAL HP SPIN-ON FUEL FILTER really is.

Seems pretty long in the video, but maybe that is normal without the WIX/Mopar 52129238AA to compare it to side by side.

:)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suUxSnndfO8

I ordered two of the MANN filters from https://www.dieselfiltersonline.com/wdk_962_12_mann_industrial_hp_spin_on_fuel_filter_si_industrial_off.html back in March 11th, and they have yet to arrive. :x

I've been in email communication with Deb at dieselfiltersonline, and I guess Mann is a couple months delayed in shipping them out or something.

Anywho, once I get them, I'll document/photo my install and post it. I'm hoping/betting on the fact that the small interior o-ring on the Mopar 52129238AA / WIX fuel filter will transfer over to the WDK-962/12 MANN filter, and still seal down tight.

We'll see!

Here is another look at the filter opening, and the non-existent small inner o-ring:

Hi, I have not got round to replacing my fuel filter, too many other problems with my Jeep CRD at the moment. Did the WDK-962/12 MANN filter spin straight on with out having to modify the bracket that holds the filter head. I will get round to it soon, I hope but would be good to know if its a straight swap.

I've been using the WDK-962/12 MANN INDUSTRIAL HP SPIN-ON FUEL FILTER for a while now as my primary and only fuel filter and it spins on and fits perfectly, although there is no water-sensor plug on the bottom of this filter, so you'll have to leave the plug undone and hanging. I have the 2nd generation Fuel Head, an intank fuel pump, and I've done the Weeks Kit #1 & #2 EGR Delete, so there is plenty of room for this large capacity fuel filter (very low micron filtering too).

:)
