Went out to start flushing my coolant when I noticed that the lower front passenger and drivers side of the radiator looks wet and the fins plugged up. Could the lines going in be loose? There's nothing dripping it just looks wet and caked with gunk. Going to flush the coolant because the shop that changed the water pump & timing belt used a universal coolant. The shop owner said that he's been using it for 8 yrs and hasn't had a problem, it's good for all coolants. Started overheating, got up to 2/3rds on the temp gauge going up a couple of big hills. Now it stays around a 1/4 and sometimes goes to where it should. Have ordered an H.D.S. 01 thermostat, just waiting for it to get here. Thought I'd get the coolant flushed before I got it. Thanks, Dan |

It might be a good idea to remove the radiator, send it to a radiator shop, and have it cleaned and tested for leaks. |

Doesn't look like coolant, looks like trans fluid. |

The ATF leak at that location is usually due to the transmission line connections at the cooler. My jeep mechanic detached the connectors, cleaned them and reattached them... No more atf leak. |
